Get Me Out of Here!

National Blog Posting Month – February 2014 – Perspective

Prompt – Do you prefer to be outdoors or indoors?

——

Well, if you have read my bio, you might have a pretty good guess as to what my answer to this is.

If I haven’t read my bio, here’s a hint: I’m a geologist and paleontologist, two sciences that are nearly unavoidably conducted outside.

Figured it out?

Yes. I love being outside.

I’m at home outside.

I love going for long walks and looking at rocks. And flowers. And bugs. Well, some bugs at least. Other bugs can be problematic. You know, the sting-y bite-y ones. Not so keen on those.

The major downside to being outdoors is that I don’t like being cold. As it happens, I’m pretty much constantly cold, unless it’s above 85 degrees Fahrenheit outside.

Winter is a struggle for me. I’ve tried snow sports. Too cold (and knee-wrenching). So I spend my winters thinking about warmer times, heavily bundled in front of the fire place and flipping through seed catalogs.

The month of March begins on Saturday.

I’m ready for spring!
