Prompt – Do you have a bad temper? How often do you lose your temper?
——
There’s this phenomenon called “Angry Penny.”
It exists. It’s real. But like the Yeti, most will never see it, and those who claim to have witnessed it are shunned as liars.
But it exists, I assure you.
Most of the time, I’m happy and easy going. No worries.
Then something will happen. The switch is flipped. It’s sudden, and the stimulus isn’t always obvious, though in retrospect, it’s usually clear.
If you move something in the lab that costs more than your annual salary without talking to me first, I might get angry.
If you break something after I’ve specifically told you to leave it be, I might be a bit upset.
If you tease me (presumably to cheer me up) when I’m in a manic mood, dealing with some catastrophe, you might discover I have a pretty good back hand.
I’m not proud of these things. They happen once or twice a year. They are shocking. Entirely unexpected. Did Penny just yell?
It happens. Hope you’re not around when it does.
