Agnes Ibbetson (1757 – 1853) was a self-taught plant physiologist.

In her career, she contributed more than 50 papers to the Journal of Natural Philosophy, Chemistry, and the Arts (generally known as Nicholson’s Journal).

Her research brought new insight into many aspects of botany, including microscopic structure and physiology of plants.
