Just Let It Rest

National Blog Posting Month – September 2014 – Healing

Prompt – Do you find it more helpful to talk things out or to let things quietly rest?

——

I admit it tend to fall silent when something is troubling me. Perhaps it’s because I don’t want to make a big deal out of something that no one else can fix. Or maybe I don’t want to feel like I’m airing my dirty laundry. Maybe I just feel guilty unloading bad feelings on someone else.

Regardless, I’m quiet when I’m not happy. I withdraw.

Now, just because I do it, doesn’t mean it’s necessarily the right thing to do. I know better. If it’s a few days of moping, that’s one thing. If it lasts and lasts, that’s quite another.

And I don’t know if you’ve noticed, I haven’t been updating my blog as often as I used to.

I’ve been lurking. Quietly. Waiting for my voice to come back.

Life has handed me some hefty challenges of late. It’s not been easy.

This month’s NaBloPoMo theme is fitting. So I’m going to take advantage of it to try to reboot my blog.

Let’s see what happens.

I understand, Penny. I respond in a similar way. Going through some rough patches myself.

I’ve completely shut down my Facebook with little to no plans to turn it back on. I have a hard enough time trying to figure out who my real friends are much less trying to sift through the detritus that is Facebook.

I’ll try to steer clear for the trite responses except to say, best of luck, friend.
