“S” is for Stygimys

Stygimys is another species of multituberculate. It is no known from The Breaks. Unlike Ptilodus, Stygimys has flatter, less arched lower fourth premolars. They are similar enough that they are occasionally confused for one another.

A lower fourth premolar of Stygimys, still embedded in the lower jaw.
