Field Work Travelog – Day 4, Hello Laramie!

One day later than the original plan, but here we are.

We got the truck back yesterday afternoon, a little too late for try to get some miles in before the end of the day. Instead, we decided to enjoy a campfire instead.

Campfire. Totally not allowed in Wyoming.

Got up bright and early to pack up for a long day of driving.

Forcing a smile, as the robot alien overlord behind me looks on.

On the way, we stopped at the I-80 Truckstop, the ‘world’s largest truckstop.’

I was there!
I was there!

We stopped briefly at a very special rest area, just East of York, Nebraska. This one is memorable, because my husband and I broke down there one December day way back 13 years ago.

Oh, York rest area. Such fond memories.

Sixteen hours on the road today. I suppose that’s why I’m tired. We left Milan just before 8 Central time this morning and arrived in Laramie at about 11 pm Mountain time.

The weather was cool and pleasant the whole drive, until we got to Wyoming. Then there was that one severe thunderstorm.

But we made it nevertheless.

And we’re sleeping in beds tonight!
