“V” is for the Vitessa N camera by Voightlander.
The Vitessa series included several 35mm film cameras with ‘barn-doors’ that opened to reveal the lens.

The tall plunger on the top was to cock the shutter. The smaller button to the left was the shutter release. Focusing was accomplished with a small dial on the back using a coupled rangefinder.
