“T” is for Taron

“T” is for the Taron PR, a camera marketed under both the brand names Taron and Nippon Kosokki.

The Taron cameras were a very successful line of rangefinder cameras.

Nippon Kosokki Seisakusho was the original name of the manufacturer of Taron cameras. In 1960, the company changed its name to Taron Co. Limited after its line of Taron cameras.

Some Taron PR cameras have a label that says Taron Co.
Some Taron PR cameras have a label that says Taron Co. Not this one. Those with the Taron Co. label have a taller rangefinder window (the one above and left of the lens).
