On Sunday (that’s yesterday), I posted this photo on both Facebook and Twitter:

It’s eight slow-cooker recipes all laid out so that I can prepare them. I got two questions immediately on both forums:
1) Do I have eight slow-cookers?
2) What recipes am I making?
The answer to the first question is no. I have but one slow-cooker. However, recently I’ve discovered the joy of slow-cooker meals and want to try to eat at home more often. Slow-cooker meals are easy to prepare, and translate well to lunches, too.
I have a mini slow-cooker in my office, which is great for warming a single serving of a larger slow-cooker meal.

The second question, I shall answer here. Some recipes come from websites, and I’ll try to include the links. Others come from this magazine that I just bought.

Starting in the far back corner is a recipe for “Crock-Pot Nacho Chicken”
Then “Crock-Pot Cheesy Chicken Potato and Broccoli”
“Slow-Cooker Chicken Teriyaki”
“Slow-Cooker Black Bean and Corn Salsa Chicken”
“Fireside Beef Stew” – From the magazine on page 92
“Pork and Green Chile Stew” – From the magazine on page 40
In the front are the cans of tomato-y things I need for spaghetti sauce. That’s my own recipe, adapted from my mother’s. It may yet be identical, but I made it from memory all those years ago, so who knows…
Next to that are the makin’s for my chili, for which I’ve already posted the recipe, here.
Such a good idea! I like to have meals prepared in advance too so sometimes I’ll cook all day and freeze things. I definitely don’t use my slow cooker enough though. Thanks for reminding me about it!
