Today’s Kickin’ it Old Skool Blog-a-Thon prompt is to show the world what’s in your bag. I read this and looked from my desk to my poor, abused backpack sitting on the floor of my office.
Looking a little homely with my scarf tossed over it.
This bag has been all over the world with me. The Arctic. Bolivia. Uruguay. England. France. Germany. And everywhere I’ve been in North America. This is my usual carry-on bag. My carry-to-work bag. My computer bag. My everything bag.
I clean it out from time-to-time, but it’s been a while. Let’s see what’s in it.
Let’s see what a paleontologist puts in her bag during finals week.
Yes. It’s an Eddie Bauer. It was what I found that day I was shopping. I can’t believe it’s lasted as well as it has!The front pocket is where I usually tuck all the little things. What’s in here?A laptop charger. Because I brought that laptop today.Aha! Kindle charger. Camera battery and charger. And a notebook. Everyone should carry a notebook.Exams and homeworks to record. One day I’ll do this. Probably really soon, because grades are due……and an issue of the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology. I’ll read it when I have a spare moment. (Ha-ha-ha-ha)External hard drive. Pretty important. A couple of pens, including my purple grading pen. And a random rangefinder for photography. In the little top pocket that’s supposed to be for an iPod I’ve tucked my camera and a little satchel with my contact lenses, in case I want to wear them. And in the far back compartment is my laptop. This is my big laptop, that has all the fancy software on it. I have a little one too that I use only for writing and web-surfing. The little one isn’t with me today. So, here’s everything. Not as bad as I expected.
That’s everything. No candy today, or crayons, which are commonly found within. Nothing overly personal (whew!). I guess I cleaned it out recently.
This is what I tote back and forth to work every day.

Mine was actually quite similar – various charges, a camera, magazine and iPad instead of laptop. And for the longest time in my “Survivalist” days, I also carried a backpack with me everywhere – a small one about the same size as yours.
i had pretty much the same set up when i was working.
