Today’s prompt for the Kickin’ it Old Skool Blog-a-Thon is to show you where I blog.
Well, that’s interesting.
I have no set place to blog (aside from “in front of the computer”) but I do have several preferred blogging stations, that often vary by what it is that I’m writing and what time of day it is when I start to write.
At the moment, I’m sitting at my desktop computer in my home office. I’m in here because I needed to wrap some Christmas presents without the prying eyes of little boys. Since the computer was on (so I could listen to some music), I figured I’d write for a while. This is actually my computer of choice if I’m writing a blog post that will require me to also create some art, like the drawings in this post about how glaciers flow.
I do have a little convertible laptop / tablet computer that I use for much of my web-surfing, writing (fiction), and simple blogging (photos and text only). When I work on it, I usually sit in my favorite comfy chair in the living room (unless there’s a lot of activity in the living room, then I evacuate to my bedroom).
I’ve also been known to blog on my phone. I do this when I’m going field research for geology or paleontology. I like to post daily travelogues, so the rest of the world can know what it’s like to be a paleontologist.
If the urge to blog strikes me when I’m at work, then I blog in my office. There, I’m most often blogging about topics related to my research, or just suddenly have the urge to rant about something.
I never know when the urge to write is going to strike, so I set myself up to be able to write anywhere I may be. It works for me. What works for you?

I do so love Wyoming. *sigh* I’m not sure what it is about Wyoming. I know how cold it gets (the coldest I’ve ever been – windchill at -45 one cold morning while buying gas) and I know the wind is ferocious, but I love it still.
I too blog wherever I find the chance 😉 That chair looks super comfortable.

I enjoyed that virtual trip through the places in your writing life. I love the diversity and the non-specificness of it. I’ll do that at some point this month as travel and the holidays will require.
