Usually I prepare a bit of a story for you, my favorite readers, on Saturday – a continuation of the ever-popular stink bug story. But not today. I’ve been a little distracted. I’ll share the tale with tweets.
It started with my husband calling for me. ‘Honey! I need your help! We have chicks!’
Houston, we have a distraction. An adorable distraction! twitter.com/paleololigo/st…

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsWe hadn’t expected them to hatch for a few more days, so we were mostly unprepared. Luckily, we already had a brooder, and all we needed was more chick feed.
Almost out! twitter.com/paleololigo/st…

Fifteen chicks in the brooder. At least eight more eggs pipped and peeps coming from the incubator.

As of this writing we have fifteen fluffy chicks and a bunch more eggs getting ready to hatch. They are so adorable. And they’re a joy to see when in the last couple of weeks we’ve lost several of our hens to predators. The legacies of our lost hens live on!

Those chicks are so adorable! ^_^
