Today on the Kickin’ it Old Skool Blog-a-Thon, we’re challenged to make a wish.
Making wishes is hard. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become less permissive of what I allow myself to wish for. I’ve become a realist. Jaded, even.
I don’t make wishes any more.
I rather miss the frivolity of being a kid. Thinking that I could wish for a pony and get one and all would work out.
Such is life. Such is growing up.
But I do have a wish.
I wish for my son to see his own brilliance. I wish for my son to gain control of his emotions and stop with the violent acting out. I wish for my son to see his own worth and be at peace.
He’s only nine, and already dealing with such difficult things. I want him to be happy with life and with himself. Is that too much to wish for?
That’s what I wish for.
How about you?
oh, my mama’s heart … “As you wish for yourself so I wish for you also.”
